Happy Dogs – We recently had an article published in the Bury Flyer and thought we would share here!

Bury St Edmunds Canine Creche, the home of happy dogs.

Since opening in December 2016 we have cared for over 6000 dogs and counting. More and more people are finding out the benefits of doggy daycare, not just to their dog in the socialisation, care and love they receive but also the freeing up of time and guilt of not having to leave your dog home alone. Truly getting the best of both worlds, with a content dog to boot.

At Creche we offer safe custom built playspaces with trained staff to supervise at all times. With toys, climbing frames and brain games there’s something for every dog. A huge outside play ground compliments the facility for outdoor play and water games during the warmer days.

Special theme weeks are hugely popular with dogs and owners alike with giveaways, special games and décor. Popular ones such as Superhero week and Howl’O’Ween are annual occurrences now with exciting new ideas populating the busy calendar.

It certainly is a home from home for the dogs where they have love and care in abundance.

Uncle Jon’s tips for a happy home environment for you and your pup

  • Make sure you give your dog opportunity to learn, to exercise, to socialise and to rest.
  • Establish boundaries, ensure your dog knows what’s OK and what’s not.
  • Be consistent with your approach. Dogs like rules and structure, any ambiguity will be taken advantage of.
  • Be calm and assertive, dogs respond to leaders. It’s up to us as owners to be their pack leader.
  • Positive rewards. Every opportunity.
  • Start training, not just at home but in a class room environment so your dog learns to be obedient in the presence of other dogs and humans and sees you as the most important thing in their lives.
